The pome fruit owes this effect primarily to its antioxidants. Glutathione, in particular, stands out: According to a US study, a high glutathione level reduces the risk of mouth and throat cancer. At the same time, its ingredients can protect us from arteriosclerosis (hardening of the blood vessels) – and thus also from heart disease, which makes the avocado the ultimate superfood!

Not only are carrots good for our eyes! Because avocados also contain the valuable plant substances lutein and zeaxanthin. They are a natural protection for our retina. Studies show that these substances can even protect us from age-related eye diseases.

7. Green brain food

Avocados are also a natural brain food for our brain. They contain valuable omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E. Our brain needs both to work optimally. Studies even show that these two ingredients can prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

8. Provides essential nutrients for pregnant women

Especially during pregnancy, it is important to be optimally supplied with all nutrients. Expectant mothers are, therefore, often meticulous about their diet. The avocado should definitely come with on the plate. It contains healthy iron, vitamin E, and potassium. It also provides folic acid. This vitamin is essential for developing the baby’s brain and nervous system, among other things.
